Specification of main kinds of plating of “Luch” watches

1. Chromium.

Practically all watches by “Luch” trademark are plated with this material. It has specific silver colour, is very strong for scratches and practically do not tear. It is deposited by galvanic method. The thickness of coating is 3-6 microns.

2. Nitride of titanium, titanium.

This material is deposited over chromium. Nitride of titanium has a yellow-green colour, titanium has a noble steel colour. The coating is deposited by ion plating method, that give to the coating an increased wearing quality.

 3. Alloy of gold.

The gold is deposited by galvanic method. Watches with such a plating look practically as gold ones. The wearing quality is more if the thickness of deposited coating is greater (1,2; 2,5; 5; 10 microns). The rate of gold is Gold-Nickel(965). The marking of case of watch according to thickness of plating by gold begins from 5 microns and more.

 4. Gold. Red gold.

These materials are deposited over chromium by method of ion plating. Watches plated by gold have a yellow colour, plated by red gold have a reddish colour. Thanks to this feature this kind of plating has received its second name – “pink gold”.

5. Nitride of zirconium.

This material is deposited over chromium. It gives to the watch an inimitable clear gold colour (like champagne). Zirconium has curative features for man’s skin. Watches with this plating have an increased wearing quality.

6. Stainless steel.

This material is absolutely inert to the ambient medium and to the man’s skin. It has an increased wearing quality.

7. Decorative coating.

Plating by galvanic method

The coating is deposited in special galvanic bath with solution. The thickness of coating depends on the time of stay of the case of watch in the bath. Thickness: 1,5 –10 microns.

Longevity: minimum one year under normal conditions.

Ion plating

The coating is deposited in special vacuum apparatus. The particles of deposited coating are precipitated with great speed on the surface of the case of watch and as it were a sort of “welding” on it. That’s why it is more steady for galling and for wear, than usual galvanic plating. Longevity: minimum two years under normal conditions.
